not buy anymore products?!  :faint2:

I'm down for forging a compromise... I'll start by tossing out the ones I KNOW I'm not going to use.

...I feel myself about to start twitching already...

To help my addiction in the long run, what I was considering is getting a plastic bin solely for my products.  When that gets full, no more product buying.  I've already outgrown my shelf, so then I went to a box, and under the sink... and in the shower.  In order to control how much stuff I have, I'll just use that as my barometer.  No room in the bin, no buying products.
Unintentionally transitioned starting around November 2003.  Fully nappy April 2004.  Best "mistake" I ever made! :)

This is a no-win situation.   >:(

When I stay off the hair boards, I am not tempted to buy anything BUT I treat my hair like crap.  >:(

Anybody down for a new challenge? But as we start, we can throw out products that don't work or give them away. That way we don't have to force ourselves to use stuff that doesn't work and we can clear off shelf space.  ooooooo How about we can swap with each other for products? Trade out what we don't like and we still won't be spending money on new stuff.

We can start the new challenge with the new year. Starting Jan 1, 2008 - No more products. I know I am going to try this...but I am expecting an order and some hair products for Christmas ;D so after Christmas I don't plan on buying anything else . As far as product swapping is concerned, how exactly would that work? Especially in terms of saving money since you would be spending $ to send stuff to others to swap.  ??? Or do I have this concept wrong?

I am almost ready to join this challenge as well.  I have a few things on the way, but after I get them I will be set. Is this just a conditioner only thing or does this apply for any new purchases?

Thanks!

It's any new purchases.  I'm a PJ, but starting this challenge 2 years ago has really helped me to get out of that...I don't have 1/2 the product clutter I once had.  The easiest way to do this is to not purchase anything until you've finished something off.  Eventually, you'll get to a point where you want to finish more than you buy, and before you know it, half of your crap will be gone ;D

*This also helps w process of elimination...you never know how much you like or dislike a product until you're forced to use it regularly.

:o Oh wow - I joined too late - but I've been doing something like this over the past 2-3 years. I told myself I had to use up stuff before I bought new stuff and/or used new stuff I already had.

As far as hair products go - I always try to mix different things up to make things work to my advantage. Orrrrrrr - just use the conditioners and shampoos as body washes (mixed with stuff too) lol. I just can't throw away products. I use them up or give them away.

I did it with hair products, body products and makeup. I also gave away some products that I knew I wasn't going to use - even if I tried adding honey, oils, etc. to it lol. Great job Jazzi!
