Anita Grant's Rhassoul Mud Deep Conditioner
« on: January 22, 2007, 12:02:25 AM »
This is a GREAT treatment. It comes in a cube and you can add extra oils or herbs to it for extra $. All you do is pour boiling water on it, mash it up to soften and stir till it looks like melted chocolate. She says to add  an ounce of liquid but I added 3oz because I didn't think one ounce would cover all of my hair. It worked out fine. I put it on clean, dry hair and covered with a cap for about an hour. I rinsed in the tub (looked like I'd been swimming in a mud hole..lol) and finished with a cool water rinse.

After rinsing my hair felt sooooo soft! I only applied leave in to the ends and a little gel on the edges and wore my hair down. I had horrible, horrible HIF disease that day and the next 3 or 4 after that. I didn't even have to condition wash, I just rinsed with water and applied my leave-in.

Ingredients:
Rhassoul clay powder, organic cocoa butter, EVOO, murumuru butter, msm, honey, vitamin E. I had her add marula oil & ylang ylang essential oil to mines.

So I gave it 4 stars...ONLY because shipping & the conversion rates are beastly. But if you got cash to splurge I say go for it. Even if it's just once, at least you had the memory. :'(

The first time I tried the Rhassoul condish I guess I didn't use enough liquid.  I was like, "meh, what's the big fuss?"  The second time, however, I used like twice the amount of coconut milk and then sat under a heat cap for about 30 minutes.  ! !  When I rinsed (in the sink--I have a sprayer), it made me want a BC just to see what my hair would look like.  (I'm transitioning)  I initially thought I would be one of those girls with little curl def, but those thangs were clumping up, coiling all over the place.  I'm sold.  The shipping is a pain in the behind.  It took me almost a month to receive my shipment.  Granted, I am out in the desert of Las Vegas, and it was during the holidays,  but still.

I give it 4 stars (I am a certified PJ, but even I have to draw the line somewhere.  The weak dollar/sterling and shipping makes this one for special occaisons).
Finally free!  Natural since 4/16. Penspring to pencil-sized coils, waves and squiggles.

Well, I tried this today and i'm not really too sure about it!
I mixed it with coconut milk and put it on freshly washed hair, maybe my hair was a bit too wet I don't know but either way I didn't like the feel of it on my hair, and when i rinsed it off it was so tangled i had to put more conditioner in it so i could comb it.

But now my hair is 50% dry it looks really good so far, it feels a lot softer and my curls feel springier.
However, I'm  not sure it's just the Rhassoul that has done this since I used BC tug me not conditioner for the first time today (then the second lot of conditioner was the TBS honey which always makes my hair soft) and then a small amount of Anita Grant Cafe Latte when it was still damp.

for now I'm giving it 2 1/2 stars but that may change by the next time I use it

my hair is 100% dry now and I can definitely feel and see a difference in my hair, I think next time i'm going to try it when my hair isn't so wet, I'm changing my 2 1/2 stars to 3 1/3, I like the finished result but didn't enjoy the process( the smell, the feel, and it dripping down my neck - which makes me think my hair was too wet) hopefully it'll work better next time

I got some of this in a swap a couple of months ago and I have to say Anita Grant made a very good product.  It's a great conditioner when mixed with other things.  Like suburban, I would say it's affects can be replicated.

I'm giving it 3 stars because 1) it's not available stateside and 2) you have to mix other stuff with it.

I used this again today, but my hair was a lot drier than the first time so i didn't get any dripping down my face and neck which was good.

I'm changing my 3.5 to a 4.5 it's not going to get 5 starts cause it says it's to be used on freshly washed hair (which i did) but then i had to wash it again to get it all out, but really like the results so this is going to be something i'll continue to use.
