Has anyone used her products? I've wanted to try them out for a while (there are so many! :faint:), and among the items I am interested in is her Jamaica Island Scalp Cleanser. I am wondering if it can be an effective cleanser for my hair, especially as I want to try some products with amodimethicone. Here are the ingredients. Do you think it sounds any good?

Ingredients: Saponified Vegetable oils mainly Coconut Oil, Glycerine (kosher, of vegetable origin), Purified Water, Coconut Milk, Hydrogenated castor oil, Raw Honey, Orange Zest, Lemon Zest and Pineapple essence oil.

Also, if you have any recommendations from her line they would be very much appreciated!

I've never used any of her scalp cleansers, but those ingredients don't sound like they'd remove cone build-up.  Her rinses suck.  (I had an allergic reaction to one.)  As do her rinse out conditioners (VERY water with no slip or moisturizing properties).  Her deep condtioners, however, are EXCELLENT.  I LOVE her buttery soy creme too.  Some people like her other creams, but they were too heavy/sticky/greasy for my hair.  (I have pics in my album of my hair using her products in case u wanna check it out.)  HTH!  ;D

I've tried samples of the type 2 and type 3 creams, the Almond Hair Milk, the Coconut Hair Milk, Herbal Hair Cocktail, Guava Honey Hair Cream, Coconut Hair Gel, and an Aloe Vera Leave in.  Her stuff smells great but I wasn't over impressed.  Of course I was in TWA stage and the effects could be different now.  I liked the type 2 cream the best for my hair type.  The milks are moisturizing and light, my Mom took those and she loved them for smoothing her hair back into a bun.  The Coconut Hair Gel was interesting, I remember it drying nice but was a little crunchy, I probably used too much or should have used the aloe leave in with it. The Herbal Hair Cocktal is a leave in too and it is supposed to be used under the type creams....it was just ok, I think I got better results using them alone mixed with a little oil. I was never sure what to do with the Guava and Honey Hair Cream.  It separates really bad, but smells divine, I think I ended up tossing that one out, but it did seem to promote shine on dry hair.  HTH!

I couldn't stand the smell of that Herbal Hair Cocktail.  :tired:  To me, her stuff worked better on my transitioning hair, but I still love the Buttery Soy Hair Creme.  Which milks did your mom try?

My Mom used the Coconut and Almond hair milks. SHe takes all of my stuff. I have to hide it from her! That's the only woman I know that can put almost anything on her hair and it respond well and grow like grass.  I guess that's why my hair repsonds well to many different things.  I just wish I could encourage her to transition.

I've tried her honey love pomade and I didn't like it, it made my hair dry and hard.

Thanks for your responses, everyone.  I really appreciate them as I was having a hard time deciding what to get out of so many products. I don't want to splurge without having tried the line myself, and especially not having heard that much about it

So I guess the Jamaica Island cleanser is out; I did think the ingredients sounded more like liquid soap than anything; I suppose it was the scent described that got me most interested.

Interesting that the Type cremes seem to work best without the Herbal Hair cocktail, I was worried about getting them without it. Now I think I will try the trial pack of the cremes. Too bad she doesn't have one for the conditioners.

MissEmbrya, which conditioners did you try, including the DTs? TIA!

Oh Lord I bought a few of her products at full sizes and regretted the purchases.  They weren't bad per se, just not what I was looking for.  They were overpriced products that gave average results.  At least the Curly Pudding does what it says it will.

As far as just the conditioners are concerned...

HoneyNutt Conditioner -- might as well have just used water on my hair.  0 moisture, 0 slip.

Honey Hair Mask -- one of the best DTs I've ever used.  Second only to Curl Junkie's Hibiscus & Banana DT.  I'm a repeat buyer for this product.

Coconut Payapa Hair Paste -- pretty good.  I bought it to use as a protein DT, but it moisturized my hair more than it strengthened so I won't be purchasing it agan.  (She said that this would work better on hair that is more damage and dry than mine before I bought it.)

Olive You Deep Conditioner -- pretty good also.  I like to mix it with honey.

I plan on trying the following:
Molasses Hydrating Deep Conditioner
REPear Deep Conditioner
Manuka Honey Hair Treatment
Lemon Soy Hair Crème
Whipped Soy Hair Jelly
Sugared Pecan Body Creme

So if you get these before I do, please post a review.  ;D  (Yes, I am a product junkie. )

I think I used:
Jamaican Island Conditioner - it smelled wonderful, but was extremely watery.
Carribbean Hair Cream - I think this was too greasy. Smelled good though.
Type 3 cream - this was okay for a wash-n-go, but regular cheaper gels could have given me the same look.
Type 4 cream - hair was greasy and I think I used it with the Herbal Cocktail.
Yankee grease - don't know the correct name, but it was extremely greasy and was supposed to be used on blowdried hair (which I never did).

The Lemon Hair Paste was the only thingI liked.  Probably because it wasn't greasy and it worked like a regular gel.

That's all I remember.

I don't like greasy or oily hair.  This is what I remember most from this line.  Also, washing the stuff out took ages and several clarifying washes.  The creator is very nice and there were people that seemed to like her products alot.  It depends on how you like YOUR hair to look and feel.  I want touchably soft hair without greasiness.

Has any one tried the honey hair creme? Does this product separate or is it creamy?

Thanks Miss Embrya and Jada1111,

So the Jamaica Island Condish is out, too bad I really wanted it to work, it just sounds like it smells so yummy :(

Glad to hear good things about the Lemongrass Hair Paste and the Type 3 creme, I'll get sample sizes of those two just to be safe. I'll let y'all know how it works out. Thanks!
