If I knew a certain company was STILL testing on animals, sorry I wouldn't use them. There are so many chemicals out there now that were tested for their safety way back in the day, whose efficacy has been analysed in countless studies, there is no excuse to still be doing that. I couldn't knowingly support such a company, when I have reams of alternatives that don't indulge in that type of frivolous torture and killing. Animal testing should be reserved for medical products, and other essentials where safety need to be ensured, not some lipstick or grease.
What is up with people trying to make other posters feel bad about the product choices they make for thier hair?"You know company XYZ tests on animals" You know what....if its between me having soft, shiney hair and fluffy getting some shit sprayed in his eyes....sorry fluffy, but it sucks to be you. "You use how many products a day? Wow...that can't be good for the environment" Yes...I use 2..sometimes 3 stylers and 2 conditioners on my hair. You should try it and maybe YOUR shit wouldn't look like a birds nest. "You use that? You know it contains (insert evil, cancer causing chemical here) and that stuff will give you cancer in 100 years" And if I get cancer 100 years from now (and will I really care at 128?)....then you are more than welcome to find my old, half deaf, memory challenged ass and tell me I told you so!Man...get the hell outta here with that ish!!!
Well...I'm gonna be honest....when folks are transitioning....I will suggest a BC. Usually cause the root of the problem steams from fighting the two drasticly different textures. Wanna solve the problem? Eliminate one of the textures. Problem solved.
Another hairboard question....when did "biracial" become a part of the hair type system I keep seeing people with "3c biracial curls" or "3b/c biracial curly" in thier siggys. I mean are 3c biracial curls really any different from regular ole run of the mill 3c negro curls?
^^^ I understand that...but why not say "wiry 3c" or "cottony 3c" or "silky 3c"? What does the connotation of being mixed tell me? Other than just that...that u are mixed? Cause we all know that afro hair can take on MANY different apperances and can run the the spectrum.
I can almost bet you money that about 80% of the products on the market TODAY are tested on animals in some way, shape or form. And they almost HAVE to be. Just because chemical a and chemical b have been proven safe by countless studies...when you mix them....you get chemical C AND possibly some other by-product chemicals of that reaction. All that has to be tested. If you look closely....a lot of products will say that the FINISHED product is not tested on animals. So when the product is in the developmental stages....what do u think happens?
