Curls Euphoria Elixir
« on: April 19, 2007, 10:37:18 AM »
I gave this product 5 stars. This performs in my hair like gel, when I want a more of a slicked back look to my curls. It of course must be used sparingly, in order to avoid it leaving your hair greasy. I SO love its scent, which makes me want to eat it, just like Curls Whipped Cream.

Do you have a photo journal?.  I am interested in seeing what your hair looks like.   This is because, I see that you and a few other people here are curls testers and I am interested in seeing how these products work in your hair.  Thanks

No I unfortunately don't have one at this time :(!  Getting a digital camera will come sometime in the future for me, but as of now I don't have any pictures to share. I am however, a 3B with medium to coarse curly hair, incase you are interested. And my hair eats up products like a sponge, too.

I can offer you this advice: Try getting samples of the Curls products that you are interested in using in your hair first, to see how they work in your hair. Before I was even asked to become a tester, that was essentially the way that I started using a lot of the Curls products, through samples.

No I have used this before and it goes on good but it makes my hair dry as a bone.  So I was wondering what your hair looks like as a curl tester.   I am not sure what classification is, as I have very tight corkscrew curls, very tight they hair is soft but very thick.  I saw shygirl ( formerly shygirl) I think her name is ecentic_kurl on this board and her hair looks great with curls products.   They coat my hair now and make it look dull, they used to work when I had shorter hair now that it has grown out they do not work anymore and they do not layer with anything they flake in  my hair and make it hard and tangled. I wanted to see other people's hair to know if I was doing anything wrong as to the misuse over use or under use of the products, but I removed them all from my rotation for now. That is the styling produts, the shampoos  ( CCC & the Asian Tea and coco  condish ) I kept as they do not cause that issue.   They are both the old formulas.

I give this product 5 stars too! I've been using it for over a month now and I love it. I don't use it the same way you do though. I was looking for something heavier to use for my ends in addition to my regular leave-in. I got the sample first and tried it mixed with my leave-in which worked fine but nothing special. But then I got the idea to just add it to the last 2 or so inches of my hair after I apply my leave-in.

This stuff has helped me to FINALLY say that my ends are in good shape. I've been struggling with my split ends since I chopped 2 years ago and now my ends are in the best shape they've ever been in. I am hooked for life.

3 Stars:  It is okay but nothing special.  It does not do much for my ends but does leave a nice shine.

TroDous:  Do you apply it to wet or dry hair?

jilangmartyl:  I am running into the same problem with the Curls line, it does not moisturize enough (outside of the deep conditioner).  It was pretty good when my hair was short but as it gets longer, it just does not work, so I only use the conditioner, the shampoo (once in a while) and the Spiral Curls (once in a while)...  Not sure if it is due to formulation changes, but the products are too expensive ordering online to keep trying them out.

Curls Euphoria Elixir is a pretty good product. I would use it all of the time for shine and softening if it were available locally and came in a bigger container.  4 stars.

Jil ----  I used it on both wet and dry hair.   My hair seemed to like it on dry hair as a gloss but made it dry and wet hair it made it feel sticky.  I was surprised as the ingredients were all great and when I hade a short afro my hair loved it but as my gets thiccker with large curl def my hair hates it.  I will keep it or pass it along to someone for a swap.

I've only used this for twists and twistouts and it gives great shine.  Never tried it on wet hair.  Trying to figure out other ways to use it.  Thanks for the suggestion TroDous4 stars.

jilangmartyl

Some CURLS products have given me similar dullish results, however, they were perfect when my hair was shorter.  As it grows, my curls are very spirally and need extended moisture.

curly4life & jilangmartyl: I applied it to damp towel dried hair which is the way I style my hair 95% of the time. I have never tried it on just dry hair since it works so well with the damp hair.

Her styling products are a miss with me, my hair used to like them, but they do not now.   I am off to the races and hope to win !!
