Pantene? Garnier? Cantu?
« on: April 01, 2007, 10:09:20 PM »
I'm thinking about using full hair care lines now instead of using a bunch of random stuff..which do you think is best?

Pantene Hydrating Curls
See 99% more curl definition in one day*Pamper your curls with this collection of products—specially formulated with a Pro-V Complex—to control wayward strands and lock in moisture, so curls look

Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal
Get 99% more strength in one week*
An incredible system of formulas, with our Pro-V Complex, insulates and hydrates

Garnier Fructis Fortifying products for damaged or dry hair

or all the stuff from the Cantu Shea Butter Line

of course the Cantu line sounds better because of the Shea Butter but im saying in general

I also think that products work better on hair if they're all from the same line.

Let us know how this goes!

I know that for me, I have to pick and choose from the different lines because my hair does not like all of the products.

I just bought the Cantu when I was in Charlotte, and loved it.  I was looking through the rest of the line, and it seemed less than stellar.  They have a "shea butter" that has petrolatum as the first ingredient, and the actual shea was listed like 6th or something.

But I'm sure you know, prodcuts are all about trial and error!

If you're not a stickler about ingredients, any of those lines can work.  I'm leaning toward Garnier Fructis b/c I used to use that line w great results.  The Shampoo, conditioner, deep treatment, hair milk, and soft curl creme are all good IMO.

I've used all three, and I liked all three
I'd say that pantene is good but I stoped using it because i wanted to expirement with other products.
Garnier, I also wanted to expirement with other products.
the same thing for cantu
Excuse me, I'm allergic to bullsh*t, could you step away

I have tried Pantene products and with then I either got extremely dryness or extreme buildup. There was never no in between.

I have tried Garnier Fructis, and I like the line quite a bit. I have tried their shampoo,   conditioner and Hair Mask for dry, damaged hair and I did experience a good amount of softness and smoothness to my hair afterwards.  I have also tried their Wet Shine Strong Hold Gel, which did give me decent results, but was nothing special really. And I have tried their Curl and Shine Leave-In Conditioning Cream. I did like using this during the Fall months. But I have never usee it during the Spring/Summer months, so I don't know how it would hold up to warm humid weather. But it did leave my curls better defined and I didn't experience any frizz with it. I used it all alone, but you can layer over it too.

I haven't tried any of the Cantu products just yet, but I am actually going to take the plunge this week and try the one that Jazzi gave 5 stars. It sounds like the bomb!

I definitely want to try GF Curl & Shine or Smooth & Shine condish and leave-in at some point.  Lots of curl types including mine rave about them. If I can only just get past the smell.

I used it (in the summer) and it was OK but the scent was just TOXIC. It gave me a headache just to smell it, so strong and artificial; exactly how you'd expect something in a nuclear green container to smell! I used to use their shampoos and conditioners before and they were great on my hair until they suddenly stopped working; I don't remember them smelling that strong before.

Smooth n Shine wasn't moisturizing enough for my hair in the winter, even as an underlayer; it actually became kind of drying. I didn't like Curl and Shine, despite its thicker consistency. I might, however still be willing to try the Soft Curl Creme. ;)

I haven't tried Pantene, but I do have the GF soft curl creme. I really do like it a lot...

The only Cantu I have is the Leave-In which I like, too, now that I started to use only a little bit on wet hair along with some oil and water has been working out pretty well.

I hate the smell of Garnier Co leave-in and rinse out smells like perm solution to me :-X

But it doesn't really linger once it's dry.

I tried the Pantene Relaxed and Naturals once and it made my hair feel like straw.  Never revisited after that.

I think the Pantene line is crap.  The ingredients are just awful.  I've never tried the others.

We liked the garnier when we first started using it but I think after awhile it dries our hair out :(. We are still using it till we can find something better. I haven't goten arouns to buying any of the Blended beauty products yet. And to be honest it would be so much easier if I could just find something in a grocery, drug or sally store.
