How do you buy your products?
« on: April 11, 2007, 05:21:19 AM »
If  you want to try something else, for example if you had BB happy nappy and wanted to try curly frizz pudding would you wait till the HN was all gone or would you buy the frizz pudding and build up a "collection" ?

At the moment I  have happy nappy, curly frizz pudding, down and out styles and soft curls and swirls ( plus shampoo conditioner and kick for curls) My boyfriend told me there is no point in having all these products at the same time.
I tend to disagree, But am I the only one who feels this way?

Honey.... he's a MAN. Men only buy what they think the absolutely need.

You're a WOMAN. Women buy everything they need and a few things that might come in handy, later......

I have happy nappy right now and i'm waiting on some cash to come through so once it does i plan on buying bb kicks for curls, soft curls n' swirls, curl styling butter, curly frizz pudding, and the shampoo & conditioner.(and i'm waiting on the down and out that i had my friend buy me)

So uhh..yeah..i don't like to wait. l0l.
ETA: Yeah ruqayya is deff. right, some of these i need and a few of em will come in handy when i'm fully natural.

I really like sistasplace.biz so much because they sell 1 oz samples and 2 oz travel sizes.  I have no problem buying several samples/travel sizes even when I have other products and I'm happy w/ my current routines...because I never know when I'll find something better!

But I do try to get rid of (by swapping, selling, giving away or using up) some of my ehhhh  :-\ stuff before trying new things.  Clutter bothers me.

when I'm in NC i love sistasplace ( and heard they just opened a store in Durham so Plan on having him taking me there when i go back  :bunny:)  but here in the UK the place i get my hair stuff from doesn't do samples.
my point was I want to try everything BB has to offer since i love the way one made my hair feel i wanted to try them all, his response was " if it works so well why do you need to spend more money on different stuff?" and i couldn't really answer that question

I've been trying to fight the PJ in me lately, but usually, I purchase things that I want to try whenever I come across them, as opposed to waiting until I am out to re-up on anything.

And right now, you guys are REALLY making me want to try blended beauty.  It's one of the few lines I've not yet ventured to...

ITA....I love Sistasplace. You can get a sample pack of 10 items for $20, which may even be cheaper than buying 10 samples separately (depending on the price for each....)

.... here in the UK the place i get my hair stuff from doesn't do samples.
---- I wish more places would offer samples for purchase! That gives the comsumer a chance to try before committing to a bigger size and more $$. Sistasplace also has a repeat-customer discount!!

It's the same thing with shoes. Men don't get it.... He says: "Hon... You have 2 pairs of black shoes. Why do you need another pair?" Your answer: "Because these go so nicely with my black dress with red flowers.... or my black pantsuit with red stripes..... or my red blouse with black dots. See..... the red bow on the instep? That's a match!" He responds: "But hon.... your other 2 black pairs would also be nice with those outfits!?" You reply: " Yeah..... but this is even better!!!!" To which he responds with a sigh and  ::)

When it comes to Blended Beauty, one size fits all.  I just chose the product I figured would last (Happy Nappy) but there's no real difference in how my hair responds to her styling butters/creams.

Generally, I try to buy products if I need them. If I'm buying just for the hell of it, I base it on what I've used.  Throwing out empty containers justifies my spending.  ;)

I have to say that having more than 3 Blended Beauty/Cutie styling products at a time can be confusing, because there's a bit of overlap and they all smell the same. I'm talking more about the stylers (curl styling butter, HNS, frizz pudding, jelly, down and out styles, lotion, light lotion)

I see a difference though, I think my favourite so far is the down and out styles, the happy nappy has more hold and doesn't dry as soft as the down and out and the Curly frizz pudding well i've only used it once and went to bed before my hair dried 100% so can't really comment on it.
(I wasn't just talking about BB i was just using that as my example cause thats what i have been buying most of )
