Pixie, you look adorable in your avatar!

Anyways, I have a love hate relationship with that GFSCC too.  I can never remember the rules for applying it.  I too had a disasterous hair do this weekend because of it...lol.

Good luck with your next attempt.  ;)

I love this stuff! Its one of my favorite products. I just took some pics of my hair with this product, but haven't added them to my album yet. I'll do it tonight.

Here's how I use it:

apply leave in conditioner to wet hair, then scoop out a small dallop of scc and rub it between my palms until both palms are white, then apply to hair. I usually apply it to my hair in 4 sections (using a small dallop on each section). I rake it through with my fingers and that's it.

I HTH, but I understand that not every product works for everyone. There are some products that I've tried based on people's raves and they didn't work at all on my hair. good luck! :)

I love this stuff too. Our hair looks very similar. The key to using this product is that you really have to use a little and rub it between your hands a lot.

I also detangle in the shower with conditioner and then I rinse it all out to form the curls. Then I add a small tiny amount of conditioner back in before I scrunch GF SCC in.

Sometimes I plop, sometimes I don't.

Before I began doiny my bohemian routine, this was a great product for me.  The key is to rub it vigorously between your palms, apply, fingercomb on soking wet hair.  It used to create the nicest curls, but it did build up rather quickly.  If I wanted really nice curls for an occasion, I'd use this product.

Help me please!  This worked well for me for the first few months, but, now, I can't get a sheen or shine with this to save my life.  If I apply less, it's not worth it.  If I apply more, I get the effect, but it's dull.  Are you using it on soaking wet hair? Damp hair? What?

Sometimes I put a little coconut oil in my hands with the scc before I rub my palms together and then apply it. It works really well. I tried this one day when I was worried about dry hair. I'm sure you could susbstitute the oil of your choice.  ;D

Girl, I don't know why it's dulling you out.  I used it on soaking wet hair.  I mean soaking.  I just rubbed it really well between my palms, applied it all over my hair in a foward motion, spritzed w more water, then finger combed it through.  My hair looked so pretty.  Your hair is really dark like mine so whenever you apply anything, make sure its on really wet hair and bring in that spritzer.  Product has a tendancy to leave a finish on dark hair if its not wet enough.  If that doesn't help, to hell w SCC!

Yeah, this is the best way to apply most styling products, but I'm with the previous poster  - GFSCC is too hit or miss for me.  I can't stand the waxy/gummy feeling or dull look it gives.  I've only used it twice.  It's still sitting in my bathroom drawer.  Don't know what I'm keeping it for.  ::) :-\
