POSTING CONDUCT
THREAD AND POST DELETION:
I) HAPPY CURLS is dedicated to discussions that are thoughtful and respectful, and any post that is counter to this philosophy is subject to deletion without warning or explanation. Any post that is considered, inflammatory, disrespectful, unkind, malicious, malicious intent, negative, snide, disrespectful, or without any significant purpose, whether overtly or subtly, will be immediately removed at the moderator’s discretion. Name-calling of other members/moderators and personal attacks are not allowed. Further, if you are fighting with another HAPPY CURLS member on another board, leave it there. And please don't use HAPPY CURLS (posts or chatting) to level feckless allegations or gossip against another HAPPY CURLS member. Comments and behavior of this nature are subject to membership cancellation--again, at the moderator's discretion. Moderators are not obligated to contact you prior to a post deletion, nor are we required to explain our actions, although we will make an effort to inform you that your post has been deleted when necessary. If you have real concerns about another member, contact a moderator.
*Please do not confuse these kinds of posts with those that are controversial, sensitive, or opinionated, as posts of this nature are allowed!
II) Moderators reserve the right to delete posts that are nothing more than "one-liners" of no nutritive value, done so (whether consciously or otherwise) for no other reason than to fuel the flames of a conversation or incite other members/moderators.
III) Moderators reserve the right to delete entire discussion threads that are no longer constructive or related to the group's purpose and philosophy without notice of any kind.
IV) Subsequent threads or posts that inquire “where did that thread go?” and "who pulled my thread?!?!?" are also subject to deletion and membership suspension. If you have had a post pulled, CONTACT A MODERATOR PRIVATELY.
V) Moderators reserve the right to sanction members who participate in a "mob mentality" posting style against other members. We ask that you respect your fellow members; comments that are determined, at our discretion, to be part of a larger collective attempt to embarrass, harass, or anger another target member will result in a firm warning. Subsequent behavior of this nature will result in permanent suspension/termination.
PERSONAL INFO:
VI) Any thread which posts the personal or sensitive information of any member or individual not a member of Happy Curls is subject to deletion.
MODERATOR RESPECT:
VII) Any posts that are directed towards the moderator(s) determined to be rude, sarcastic, snide, or disrespectful are grounds for immediate termination, AT THE WILL AND DISCRETION OF THE MODERATOR.
THREATS TO LEAVE Happy Curls:
VIII) "Threats" to leave the group will not be entertained. We will take future statements of this nature seriously and will promptly delete your membership, as requested.
IX) Threads or posts that are written to state a member's desire or intention to leave Happy Curls will be deleted immediately, and the member will be terminated, as requested. Threads/posts of this nature serve no purpose other than to enflame a situation or manipulate other members to cajole you to stay.
CHAT ROOM CONDUCT
I) Decorum:
Please refrain from using comments that may be viewed as derogatory or inflammatory to another member. Keep in mind that with a chat board, many things get "lost in translation"--we cannot see your expressions or hear the intonations in your voice; the written word is often taken more literally.
II) Personal Info:
NO personal info, such as address, full name, phone number, etc. on any member--including yourself--should be posted in Chat room.
III) Profanity:
Profanity that fits into the flow of the conversation is acceptable; excessive and crude profanity is not allowed and should be reported immediately. Profanity in the form of name-calling to another member is also not allowed. Any language that may make others uncomfortable should be tempered. Ethnic/racial slurs will not be tolerated.
IV)Fighting:
Please DO NOT bring your fight from another board onto Happy Curls. If you are fighting with another Happy Curls member on another board, leave it there. And please don't use Happy Curls (posts or chatting) to level feckless allegations or gossip against another Happy Curls member. If you have concerns about another member- contact a moderator.
V) General Behavior:
The "Golden Rule" is a good rule of thumb. Treat others like you'd like to be treated. Extend common courtesy to all others and you'll surely reap it in return. Chat Room is a community feature--no one member or group of members "owns" it--and no one member should ever be made to feel like she/he doesn't "belong."
If you are a participant in the Chat room and see any of the "rules" being infringed upon, please notify a moderator.
