I've done this quite a bit w/ conditioners w/ a little slip (Suave Tropical Coconut and V05 Tea Therapy).  I add a little olive or coconut oil to them anyway, so they work well as a leave-ins too.

I used to use TIGI moisture maniac as a leave in and my hair wouldn't absorb it. It really dried my hair out. Now I only use products specifically made to leave in as leave ins. :)

This is the only way I use Elucence MBC (well, it's the main way, 'cause I do add a bit of it to my protein treatment).   I've used DevaCurl OneC with oil added as a leave-in and liked it as well.

I do this all the time with my conwashes or I'll use Elucence or Trader's joes as a leave in....I don't use conwashes that contain protein such as hydrolzed milk protein, collagen, cholestrol, or keratin as a leave in  because I think that might break the hair. Everything else is free game  ;D

I don't attempt this anymore-I always got dull, coated, rough feeling hair, whether the conditioner was a cheap drugstore type ( many different Suave & VO5 COs), a health food store type (AO Honeysuckle Rose), or one of these pricey curl-specific/BSS brands (Curls, Curl Junkie, Elucence).

I've recently been using a little bit of Suave Tropical Coconut as a leave in. It leaves my hair soft, defined and moisturized. Use it sparingly though because I noticed it can build up over time. I also like Whole Foods 365 Peppermint conditioner.  Elucence MBC used to be a good leave in for me too.

I used to get away w this w much shorter hair, but now, Elucence is about the only rinse out I can leave in.  Anything else gives my hair the dull finish and coated feeling that Jeamaria described.

I used Suave and V05 as leave in conditioners with coconut oil when my hair was shorter - I haven't done this in a while - I'll have to revisit this.
It worked well in the past though.

Honestly, this might be why I stick to Elucence so hard, but this summer, I've been using Abba more than the Elucence.  I'll see what happens in winter (I know that's when you say Elucence works well for you).  If Abba still does the trick then, I may let Elucence go, but that's a big IF...
