Do yall need to condition after using this?

I would say yes. I follow with a deep, creamy conditioner. Although the clay "moisturizes" as it cleans, it's not enough.

Darn, I was hoping I didint have to do anything afterwards. The only problem is that I dont have a deep conditioner. I have tried some but I never noticed a difference with any of them

I don't have a whole foods nearby, but I am gonna get some bentonite clay from another source that I have locally. On the blended beauty web-site it lists its ingredients as:

Bentonite, Althea Offinalis (Marshmallow) Root.

EmpressRi,

Let me know your exact measurements, results, and what type of stuff you used.  If the BB version is just a combination of the clay and the marshmallow root powder then this will be easy to re-create, it will just be about finding the right mix of the two.  Please keep us posted. This sounds like a good way to rid the scalp of impurities!!!

Trader Joe's Nourish really penetrates the hair, while also having good slip. Just mix it with a bit of honey, apply it generously, and leave it on under plastic for 1/2 hour, some people like to use it for longer.

So after all the rave reviews on bentonite clay, I finally tried it tonight. And my hair loves it!  My hair was super soft and shiny.  I think I will try to use at least once or twice a month.

Last relaxer: May 26, 2002
Big Chopish: several throughout 2002

And I have not looked back since!
