so im DEFINITELY going to make my own knockoff stuff, i used the entire jar of blended beauty! just make sure you rinse thoroughly when you use it else your hair will feel dry afterwards. i loved how my hair looked and felt afterwards, this is definitely a keeper.

When I first tried the clay from Blended Beauty, I used the Blended Beauty Herbal ReConditioner which was AWESOME. I love that stuff! But it's way to pricey for the small amount that only lasted 1.5 washings.

Now, I just follow with my Lustrasilk Shea Butter Mango.

This stuff is really awesome.  My hair is really thick and coarse so I was suprised at how soft my was after. Not stripped at all.  I actually had  nicely seperated coils. I almost most didn't want to do anything else to it so that I wouldn't mess with the texture! definately considering this as a new cleansing routine ;D

I picked up my powdered marshmallow root powder yesturday.  The organic stuff is expensive! I got a small baggie and I paid $3 for it. To me that is expensive for bulk herbs. But oh well, I won't complain. For now I am gonna use 1 part bentonite clay mixed with 1 part marshmallow powder. I will adjust the recipe the next time if this does not turn out okay.  I just want to replicate the BB mask without spending so darn much money for the small jar they sell it in. I think EmpressRi said she got only one use out of that $9 jar.

I've used the BB mask and the plain bentonite clay. Didn't notice much of a difference in the two. So, try out both your marshmallow root mix and just the clay. The results may be the same for you. If so, you won't have to spend as much on the roots.

i sure the hell did  >:( but it's okay. i used the BB herbal reconditioner mixed with the quenching condish afterwards. i think i can get another 2-3 uses out of the herbal recondish, it is pricey though for the little bit that you get, but i didnt need to use a ton for it to work effectively.

I've just ordered some of this.
I tried a marshmallow root rinse this past weekend - Anita grant is the only place so far in the UK that I have seen the marshamllow root, and it comes in herb form not powder, so you make a kind of tea but it worked well, I had soft shiny hair, like after using the BB clay just not as "mushy" feeling so I gave in and ordered the Bentonite clay too and also plan on making my own BB "inspired" mask.

I also bought some Amla and Rhassoul powders but haven't got round to trying them yet

Hmm interesting, I have both the marshmallow root in herb form and the powder which is finely ground up. I bet BB is using the marshmallow root powder b/c the picture of the mask prior to use looked very powdery.  It did not look like it had whole roots in it. Someone who has actually bought the BB version let me know please.

you're right the BB version doesn't have whole roots and was powder form.
But I'm thinking since it will be washed out anyway I will put the herbs in a blender to try to make them finer and mix it with the bentonite or make the tea and mix that with the bentonite clay instead of water, since thats all you do with the BB version.
LOL I don't see how it can go wrong, but even if it does I still have the option of using the marshmallow root tea and bentonite as 2 different products and a lot cheaper than buying the BB one which has gone up a whole lot.. when i first started using it it was £5.99 now it's £9.95 >:(
