What's the best way to get your hair trimmed? Wet? Dry? Blow dried?

I would say dry.  It is easier to see the ends and to know where you have been.  And it keeps you from cutting too much.  Especially if you are doing it.  It does not have to be blowdried.  I usually do the clipping when I have done some twists.  So, as I take them down, I snip the ends.

When I stop by one of the cheapie places, they usually trim it damp (they spritz it).  They ask me how much I would like to trim off and I tell them.  I never usually need more trimmed than a 1/4 inch each 3-4 months.  And since I don't get many split ends, if any are missed, it can wait until my next trim.

For me, because I usually do a wng and I have different textures in my hair I prefer to get my hair cut wet. It isn't always "even" but it looks that was when it's curly. I so rarely where it straight, so I’m not so concerned about how even it is. The thing is in Boston it is hard to find a stylist who can trim my hair wet, the way I like it. It seems like every time I find one they move to another salon and can't find them. So most of the time I end up getting a trim when my hair is blown out and have them rewet it so the stylist can even out my shape while it’s curly. Sorry for being so long winded.

my friend trims my hair and she always does it wet/damp and it always turns out good, she knows how much to take off.
