MyHoneyChild Banana creme conditioner
« on: January 14, 2008, 12:19:38 PM »

I was a little surprised at how small the bottle was and the consistency of the conditioner - quite thin, if I was to get too attached to this I would be going through a bottle a week. it's bright yellow and smells nice, doesn't have that artificial banana smell but smells nice and fresh.
I applied it and it honestly felt like I was using nothing at all, I'm in the shower beginning to get pissed and have flash backs to my taria curls Fiasco.
I apply some more, the bottle says to leave it on for 10 minutes I didn't plan on being in the shower that long, I combed rinsed and was done, not that impressed.

wasn't in the mood to leave my hair out so put it in a braid.
later on in the day i looked at my hair in the mirror it looked really shiny and felt thicker also I had waves ( I never have waves when I pull my hair back) so I was impressed, later my hair felt so much softer and my inital reaction wore off ;D

Today I used it again and put on a shower cap while I went off to get dressed figured that would be about 10 minutes, when I rinsed my hair sprung up like it does when it's been cut it rinsed easy and was soft.
I can understand why it says to leave it on for 10 mins, it does feel better the longer it's been on. overall I'm happy with this based on the size of the bottle and the consitency not sure if I will be getting it again.
for now I'm giving it 3.5 stars

Good

Smells nice and fresh
makes my hair shiny
feels moisturized without weighing it down or feeling heavy
Makes my curls pop

bad

bottle is way too small and conditioner a little thin
need to use a lot to be able to feel like I had something on my hair
works better if left on for more than 2 minutes - not always practical I don't always want to feel like i'm doing a deep treat.

Thanks for this review! I guess it was only a matter of time until you tried it given the banana flavor! ;D

I was planning on ordering some products from her and not sure which condish to choose. This one is her priciest and if it's taking 10 minutes to work on someone's hair that's used to getting instant condtioning, I can only imagine how long it would take to penetrate my fortress cuticle layers. Maybe I'll try my luck with Jamaica Island or HoneyNutt.

I have the honeynutt also and it says to leave on for 10 minutes but is ok if left on for a shorter amount.
my only issue with this is it states it's thick ( thick to me is BB conditioners) this was average thickness, and the fact that you need quite a lot but the containers are so small. I do like them though and have the cleansers on the way  :)

Cool, I'll try the honeynutt for sure then. Yours is the 4th positive review of it that I've heard. :D
