I would say blogs are definitely in for the natural hair world. It used to be forums......

And everybody has a natural, "homemade" hair care product line - tryna be the next Carol's Daughter.....

I agree with Morenae about the blogs b/c I follow a few blogs of people that I know from hair forums and YouTube. As for the people starting their own 'natural "homemade" hair care product line', I say more power to them, as long as they have the time and financial backing to run a business.

In - mixing my own natural hair care products more often for myself (just to cut down on spending money for other people's stuff).
 - Research of ingredients in one's hair/body products.

And y'all can figure out who I was referring to on the sly when I mentioned "other people", right?  ;)

@Morenae girl thank you for the first ever post you did about Kimmy!
I have become a follower of her hair videos (although she is way over due to post one) and I have to admit that my hair has never been (feel/look) better.  Even my husband is commenting on the growth that I have been noticing. You know it is good when the hubby starts to comment LOL
I am certain actually watching the process helps, because you can see what she does and it really helps so I would agree that Youtube is IN and a great resource, for naturals, but not everyone with a video camera can be or is "Kimmy" LOL

In: All organic products
Out: ANything with bad ingredients that might stunt hair growth

In:Sulphate-free shampoos (this is a hard one because I love the many different scents that comes with sulphate shampoos)

In:Protective styles (twists in a bun- my everyday going to school style for the week) then treating myself by wearing ends of hair out in puffs or half buns during the weeknd to show off my curls.

Out: wearing puffs everyday. (have to keep the ends tuck, for I am growing my hair)

In:Natural oils/butters etc (to make my own handmade mixes) -shea butter mix and my glycerine spray mix which my hair ABSOLUTELY LOVES. Never have i been more happier for soft curls that exensive products such as Komaza care, etc would have given me. glycerine/aloe/shea is all my hair needs to soften like cotton.

Out:Expensive products..being a product junky and having to find out that they all make my hair dry :-(

In: Using less products in hair to avoid product buld-up so I dont have to wash as much

Out: washing hair every week...now its once every two weeks.

oops .I meant to say "expensive products wouldnt have given me..nothing ever seemed to work when I buy other handmade products online to make my hair soft except my own mixes. I believe you should cater to the needs of your own type of hair and what it likes how it acts with a certain product instead of purchasing because its the latest trend or it "smells really good"-pet peeve! focus on buying products/ingredients that your hair likes and it will grow dont rely on other people's hair routine and expect the same results

A new 'In' for me is swapping products.

I don't know what it was before, whether I just didn't want to try using products that other people had had their hands in and I was too lazy to go to the post office and get rid of my unwanted stuff.
But now, I'm totally loving it, mostly as a lot of the lines at britishcurlies don't do sample sizes it's a great way for me to try new things without feeling guilty about spending so much money on different things... and have got over my 'snobbish' approach to 'used' items..lol
