I tried Dairy Whip and I'm impressed.  It's one of the first soap-based shampoos I've tried that didn't leave my hair feeling coated (yuck!) or parched.   It has a great consistency and smells NICE!  I haven't seen any reviews from people with kinky-curly hair, so I thought you may be interested.

Those are the two types of experiences I have had in the past with using hair soaps and which have really kept me away from them. If it doesn't have that then it sounds promising. I need something to remove the castor oil but  my hair does not have the strength for me to be using shampoo on a weekly or biweekly basis. Now I just have to decide which flavor to try. Did they really need to make 50 versions of the same soap?

I'm LOVING my new found love...
Hawaiian Silky Curl Activator..
I don't use many products, but this is a winner!!!

I've tried soooo many curl activators from
Long Aid, SCurl and many more and they
were too thick to use on my hair and did
absolutely nothing, but sit there..Lol..

I use Hawaiian Silky underneath my stylers,
leave-in's and Never experience dryness!!!!
Curls are absolutely Beautiful and I get 2nd and 3rd
day hair...

I'm a Curly, Coily, and Wavy Natural Diva!!!!

Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Milk is hot on all the boards right now. I have been using it as a leave-in for the past couple weeks and it's worth the hype IMO. It's moisturizing and detangling. I seal it with castor oil and gel and I get 4-5 day (loose) hair that stays moisturized and defined. All I do is fluff out and go in the morning.

I want to try this..I spoke with someone at KBB and they told me
in Jan they will start selling sample size of their products..
I was told that you seal it with the Hair Cream, but the Hair Cream
isn't something that you use daily, just 2x a week...

@ alaskanmama, I just ordered a sample of Qhemet Cocoa Tree Detangling Ghee...
I hope it's great, because I do like her products..

I tried the Trader Joe's Nourish condish and expected miracles...what did I do wrong? I'm wondering if I use a leave-in after the conditioner if it will work better - will try that...but hair is hard although it was decent for detangling.  :( Kinda disappointed with my outcome.

Well it does have alot of protein in it so if you are protein sensitive it may cause your hair to feel hard. Did you say you left it in? It made my hair feel crisp when I tried to leave it in, but I love it as a rinse out and for detangling.

I tried Organix Tea Tree Mint Shampoo and the Coconut Milk Conditioner.  I liked it well enough, I can even see myself repurchasing the shampoo.  I wasn't floored by the conditioner, I guess I'll stick with my Elucence.

I add oils to my TJ conditioner...and I can't leave it in cause its really protein heavy.  Try melting some coconut oil and coconut milk to it...i swear with that combo added it is really rich and leaves my hair nice and soft!
extremely thick, kinky, coils and curls that have a mind of thier own.

mistytee have you receeived your QB products yet?

Okay everyone knows that I am working the carmel treatment for the winter to protect my hair.  I recently tried the Hairveda vatika frosting post the caramel treatment.  I am loving the way that my hair feels after the caramel, shampoo, and DC.

I know that NC and Jazzi have spoken on this product and I have to agree it is great. I gotta order some more.

Karen's Body Beautiful left my hair a little too soft and I can see overconditioning becoming a liklihood if I use it a few more times.

Qhemet's honey thing was a sticky, greasy mess.

I used up all my KBB Hair Milk so I've moved on to the KBB Deep Conditioner. The ingredients are very similar to the Hair Milk so I decided just to leave it in. I'm loving it! I can't decide it my hair is as moisturized or more moisturized than with the Hair Milk. But I love them both and they are too good to rinse out.

I just purchased some products from this company called afroveda (You are not allowed to view links.Register or Login
http://www.afroveda.com
).  The products look REALLY yummy and the prices are PERFECT.  I'm tried of paying $19 for 8oz of product.  All her prices are around $8/$9 for 8oz sizes and right now she if offered free 2oz samples of products when you place an order.

I ordered the shea/alma creme and the ginger twisting butter.  I've decided to keep my hair twisted for a while.  Its just easier in the winter because of the time it takes for my hair to dry...as well as I'm not a morning person and working 12 hours a day, sleep has become a top priority in my day!

As soon as I get the products and try them out (which I'm hopeing will be in 2 weeks when its time to retwist), I'll post a review of the products.

ETA:  here are the ingredient lists

Shea Amla Whipped Butter Cream
Shea Butter, Amla Oil, Sesame Oil, Almond Oil, Castor Oil, Aloe Vera Whole Leaf Juice (Organic), Naturamulse,
Ayurvedic Healing Herbs, Tocopherol T-50 (Vitamin E), Germall Plus, and Essential Oil Blend

Totally Twisted Ginger Almond Butter
Distilled Water, Almond Oil, Sunflower Oil, Glycerin, Ayurvedic Healing Herbs, Stearic Acid, Tocopherol T-50 (Vitamin E), Citric Acid, Naturamulse, and Essential Oil Blend

Shikakai Hair Growth Elixir
Ayurvedic Herbal blend infused in Organic Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil and Sesame Oil, Aloe Vera Whole Leaf Juice, Tocopherol T-50 (Vitamin E), and Essential Oil Blend

I'm also eyeing this product too

Hemp Seed Lock, Twist & Roll Butter
Shea Butter, Mango Butter, Ayurvedic Healing Herbs, Palm Wax, Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, Essential Oil Blend

I almost purchased it...except that it has palm wax in it.  Anyone have any info on palm wax?  I'm assuming its like beeswax but maybe better?

I tried a few Mop Top products over the summer:

Anti-frizz Gel...same look of hair styled with curl activator or KCCC, but with a much drier feel.  Wouldn't repurchase.

Deep Conditioner: Thick, rich, and penetrating.  Hair feels majorly deep conditioned after rinsing/styling, and a little goes a very long way...I'll probably have that jar a long time.  I'd repurchase for a treat to myself.

Spray Detangler: Does a very good job at refreshing styles and even as a leave in, but I wouldn't repurchase.

Thanks for your tips re: Trader Joe's Condish!! I LOVE the way it feels when it's wet, so I think adding oils to it will help me a lot.  I have coconut milk and oil so I'll try it.  Thanks!!

I've been using African Royale Hot Six oil and the shine and moisture are perfect, esp in these dry conditions!! I had another bottle of oil that was cheaper, but this brand is worth the extra dollar or so :) I do believe my hair is all about the oils so I'm trying to work with that.

I used Giovanni Direct Leave-In for the first time this weekend.  I think I like it.  I can't say for sure since this is the first use but so far so good.
