CURLS Curl Gel-les'c
« on: February 01, 2009, 02:21:47 pm »
I wish that I could give this product 10 stars actually! As, it gives off lots of sheen, provides excellent frizz control, and it makes my curls have a smoother, yet still defined look to them. Also, this product does not leave my hair greasy or crunchy. And, the product doesn't make my hair feel heavy at all.

After having tried many Curls styling products, this one is the best one that I have used thus far. And, the ingredients in this product just can't be beat!

I want to try this. Do you have to use a lot of the product. The bottle looks really small for the price to me.

The bottle is to damn small for the price. Don't get me wrong it does what it claims to do (for the most part) but I did notice if your hair has the tendancy to be dry ,this product will suck the moisture right out of your hair.

I agree Syb.  There are just not enough stars to offer this product.  I am a 4a hair type and I love this product.  It gets 5 stars from me.  I applied this product to soaking wet hair just like I do my KCCC.  I like this product better than the KCCC because it really eliminates the frizz.  It also seems to elongate my curls and I don't have mad shrinkage either.  Maybe after the newness wears off, they'll drop the price some. If not, oh well. This is my #1 product and I don't care how much it cost, I love it! The scent is awesome too. My sister has my camera so when I get it back, I'm definitely posting comparision photos of it and the KCCC.  Oh, I used a kick@$$ conditioner before applying it, my beloved Elucence.

Finally had a chance to try this product after buying it on sale at Afrokinks. I was skeptical at first because Curls products have always disappointed me, but the sale inspired me to give it a try. To my surprise, it worked pretty well.

Gel-les'c is similar to Ouidad's Climate Control Gel, which was my holy grail for 2 years before finding KCCC. The texture resembles a velvety serum, and is not really a gel. It's is not runny, and not sticky. It's just like the Curls Goddess Glaze (which I also bought on sale), but slightly stronger.

PROS:
It defined my curls really well - even my most frizzy sections.
The bottle was bigger than I thought it was, and a little goes a long way.
It defined, but did not flatten my curls like KCCC does. So, I still had a little body.
Very EASY to apply. It's "jelly" enough to define, yet "liquid" enough to spread.

CONS:
Dries somewhat stiff and slightly crunchy, but the doesn't bother me.
May not give 2-3 day hair like KCCC.

I going to have to agree with you. Nothing seems to beat KCCC for me either.

I like the Gel-les'c, but it doesn't compare. Second day hair was dry, poofy, and tangly. Third day hair was non-existent.

General verdict: For me, it defined well, but couldn't maintain.

I also have to agree with all you. I have tried quite a few products, but nothing tops KCCC for what it does...even though I hate the way it feels when I put it on my hair.  I have also learned how to eradicate that crunchy.  I smooth the KC-balm lightly over the hair (with wash/go) or when I do individual twirly twist, I coat each twist lightly...this does the trick each time. I try to get 2wk hair.  1st week twist then I take them down and wear twist out..Wash/Go last 1 wk but the hair is super big by that 6th day due to moisture drawing properties with KCCC.  My hair is BSL stretched --so the big is BIG.

I wanted to like the Gel-les'C, but it was missing something. I tried mixing some KCCC with it but that didnt really work, so I am just trying to use the rest with 2 strand twist.
