White shoes required
« on: March 07, 2009, 12:52:19 PM »
Ladies, I will be taking part in a ceremony in a week and the requirement is to wear white.  I think I have decided on a white dress, but need assistance with the finding white shoes.  The shoes cannot be ivory or cream or other they must be white white.

Here is picture of the dress (please disregard the model)

I am thinking of adding a shaw or a jacket to the dress any opinions?

Can anyone help me out with this? I need assistance ASAP  ;D

Does anyone know when the date is that it is PC to wear white after Labor Day?

What's the weather gonna be like?  (That dress is very summery...can you pull that off in March in Alaska?)  Have you gone to zappos and done a search for white dress shoes/dress sandals/dress whatever-type-of-shoes you like?

I NEVER wear white shoes, so if I had to get a pair for a specific occasion, I'd choose the cheapest acceptable pair I could find...cause they'd be going in the trash as soon as I got back home.

I'll look in a little while to see if there is anything on zappos I like.

Can you narrow it down some -- strappy sandals, t-straps, d'orsays, slingbacks, etc.?

Spidey, I am so with you. I do not purchase white shoes either and I have to wear white stockings too!(HELLO)  :o That has not happened since I was 7 years old at Easter Parade/Ceremony.  ::)

As for the style of shoe, I am gonna take what I can find/get. I posted the dress so that anyone assisting could consider the style of the dress and go from there.  One female keeps asking me; would open toe be okay, I think she wants to wear open toe shoes.  I am more of a classic pump or sling back girl (conservative dresser), but I am not feeling that look with this dress. HELP

Reference Alaska and the weather we will be inside and that is why I want to add the shawl or jacket, may be a sweater??  :-\

I have lots of white skirts/tops and dresses, but they are summer style (remember the cruise).

Thanks for the assistance  :)

Alaska.....are you joining the LIGHT?  That's the ONLY group that I can think of that makes you wear the white on white "easter parade" get up...lol

You should try white house / black market (is that the name of that store?) Everything they sell is either white or black.  If I have a function to go to that requires a white dress, I check there first.  They also tend to carry white clothing in seasonal appropreiate attire as well which is good if its winter time and you need a white suit.

I tried them first and I did not see anything that really made me go "yeah"

I bought a suit only to find that it was not white white

My first dress arrived and it was too big and I am runnig out of time  :-\

If I was 8 or 9 years old I would have this in the bag, because all the little girl Easter dresses are out
