Can you walk in 4-inch heels?

I'm loving the gladiator style sandals that are making a comeback, but my ankles hurt just by looking at the heels on some of them.  I love the flat sandals too, but can you walk in 4" heels?

No. Those are hot and the platform and slightly thicker heel probably help with stability but I had some 5" heels before (Don't ask me why since I'm 5'11" barefoot) and I couldn't even straighten my knees all the way!

Yeah, I could walk in them but I probably wouldn't buy them because I'd always be worried about stepping on a pebble and twisting my ankle.  I draw the liine at 4".  5.25" is a bit much for me.

Yes...I love heels and actually until recently, the only flat shoes I had were 2 pairs of sneakers...lol.  (i aggivated an old knee injury and now I'm in flats for a few weeks while it heels)  Most of my heels are between 3-4 inches and I have a few pair of 5 inch heels and one banging pair of 6 inchers that I've never worn outside of the house.

The key to being able to walk in really high heels is to strech and contract your calf muscles.  I do a lot of incline treadmill walking and setting the precor elliptical to a high incline helps as well.  When those calf muslces are loose, its MUCH easier to go higher up in the heel height.

Yes, the majority of my heels are 4 inches.  I have a few pair that are 3 and a couple that are 5.

Girl, yes all those hours of playing dress-up in my granny's heels- flats are not my friends (I'm only 5'1"  ). BTW, those shoes are gorgeous.

Am I the only one who doesn't like heels? I hate having to dress up and put on girly shoes. 2" is pretty much my limit.

But some outfits just don't look right with flats. So I lurch along trying not to break my neck.

I do like platforms, though.

Yes and no. I'm not into stilettos AT ALL. I had to practice for a couple weeks before I could wear a pair to my cousin's wedding. I have 2 shoes that are 4 inches but the heel is thicker,  though not platform. Those are super comfortable I can run in them and wear them all day, but generally I stay away from the superhigh heels. Platforms are my favorites, too Lisa125! I'm noticing they're coming back into style the past couple of seasons, though I was rocking them regardless for the decade or so they were not, lol.

Most of my heels are between 2 and 3 inches. I'm not the hardcore heel wearer, my sister can climb hills in heels, but not me. I try to alternate between heels and flats because my feet get awkward after sticking to one of these for say, months on end.

yeah i'm 5'9" and wear tens and have high arches so... yeah.  4 inchers are the golden standard

i have strutted in 8-inch heels before... now that was a feat

I can walk in them as long as they are offset by at least a half inch platform in front. A chunkier heel and even better. I just had knee surgery though and won't be wearing tall heels for a loooong while.

I'm already tall (5'11) so most people usually think I'm wearing heels anyway until they look at my feet.

They're not comfortable at ALL and I'm not paying for a hip replacement when I get older so I only wear them if absolutely necessary.

I'm short, but I too avoid heels.  I like having pretty feet, and I don't sit at a desk 24/7 for work so extremely high heels are not feasible for my lifestyle. 

I have several stiletto-addicted friends, and they have straight hooves.  Like, they can't even wear sandals 'cause of their bunions, corns, etc.  One is even going to have to have surgery on both of her feet.

I rock cute flats, wedges, & kitten heels.
