Ok, I got the Aveda brush, and eh... I will get the hang of it, but I really think my hair is too thick  for this brush.... really!

We'll see .... I spent the $20 so I am going to use it, however I only get the scalp massage properties with this brush on the sides and very front of my head.  I feel like I am doing an arm work out with this brush in the middle and back of my head.

gmw, Do you section your hair when you detangle?

I have extremely thick hair (as you can see  ), also, and sectioning makes all the difference in the world. If you don't feel anything in the back, you may have to do smaller sections.

Afrocurls,
Thanks! That is what I did this morning and it turned out much better!!! I felt it all over my scalp. This brush really does take out much less hair then the Denman.

I really like it now!!! Thanks again!
