Frizzzzzz .
« on: May 27, 2009, 07:04:05 PM »
So I had my big chop and am slowly learning and loving the new curly hair life  :). I was just wondering if anyone had any products that they've used or are familiar with to deal with frizz. I've tried products such as Garnier Fructis [too hard], Prostyle[too dry], Eco[its okay], Africa's Best Olive Oil Gel[too dry, itchy scalp], Samy Big Curls Creme[softens hair but no frizz control], Care Free Curl[bad] and Hawaiian Silky [softens hair, defines curl but no frizz control]. My hair has a very tight curl in some areas and others are a bit looser. Any ideas?

For me, more frizz usually comes from:

1) needing a trim
2) needing more moisture overall: from DTs, to conditioner, to leave in
3) using the wrong products; e.g., glycerin/propylene glycol-heavy CAGs in not humid enough weather
4) using too much oil or too many products at once

ITA w Jeamaria.

Try conditioner washing your TWA pretty regularly (daily) and finishing with a leave in conditioner and/or curl activator gel.  That should help with the frizz.   Also, you've just big chopped so it's gonna take a little time for your hair to behave so to speak.  The more care you give to your hair and scalp (and yourself internally) the more you hair will behave.

Thanks for the advice Jazzi. I've been conditioning my hair with Garnier Fructis' Curl & Shine, it keeps my hair pretty soft and after I use Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1. I may get a leave-in conditioner because I feel that the Hawaiian Silky is light on my hair so it doesn't help with the frizziness as much. Once again thx for the advice !
