Hair Care Product - Making them work
« on: June 16, 2009, 12:09:36 PM »
Hey All,
I have not been around lately,  but I was thinking I wanted to ask this question as I struggle with this as well.

Do you all find yourself wanting to make products work for you.  I mean I am trying to use up what I have now and I have some Blended Beauty stuff that I thought worked for my hair but I cannot see to get it to work.  I do not know if this sounds dumb, but I am not sure how to work it.

I have the following

Happy Nappy
Silkshake
Curly Frizz Pudding
Curly Lotion or styling lotion cannot remember the name
Kick for Curls
Butter me up.
Condtioning conditioner
Reconstructive treatment

I really do not wear my hair curly that much anymore off and on. I use buns or braids  How do I get this to work for me?

I know exactly how you feel Jil.  You spend all this money for products...not to mention the shipping, they BETTER work!

Happy Nappy: Use it as a sealant after you've applied your leave in or to do braids, twists, or to pull hair back
Silkshake: Use as a leave in
Curly Frizz Pudding: Light wash n go style
Curly Lotion or styling lotion cannot remember the name: light wash n go style
Kick for Curls: Use to refresh your ponytail in the AM...or as a leave in.
Butter me up: Same as Happy Nappy
Condtioning conditioner: Use as directed
Reconstructive treatment: Use as directed

And if they still just don't do it for you, offer them up for swap.  I'm sure there are plenty of ladies eager to purchase these products.  ;)

Thanks J,
I will try it and see what happens. I was going to swap them off but I decided to give them a try again as I paid for them so I want to make them work. The happy nappy is great though it keeps my hair really moist but the rest I had no idea as to mixing them and matching them.  So thanks again.

If I can't save a product by either mixing or layering it with castor oil I usually just admit to myself it's unsalvageable. But most of the products on your list are very popular so you won't have any problems getting them off your hands if neither castor oil nor jazzi's suggestions work.

The happy Nappy and Butter me up are EXCELLENT if you to twists!  It's also good on your ends as a sealant after you apply your leave in and/moisturizer.

The silk shake is sorta a leave in I think...but if its not heavy enough for you....try using it as a 2nd day refresher or even to detanlge/comb through hair that's been up in a bun.  you can also try using it at night and spraying the ends and then applying either the happy nappy or the butter me up on top.

I havn't used anything else from that line but hope that helps!
extremely thick, kinky, coils and curls that have a mind of thier own.

Thanks NC.  :-)

I do not twists on my hair but I do braid so I am sure it works the same way.  I still on the fence with them, but will try to see what I can do.  Much appreciated. :-)
