Joy's weaves look like roadkill 95% of the time, so if she wanted to go hard on anybody I think it should be the person who does her tracks. :blank:
Tyra was being SUPER over the top with the Ntnl. Real Hair Day, but I detect a bit of Hit Dog Syndrome from Joy's comments. As far as I know, Tyra never said that every Black woman who has ever worn weave was hopelessly insecure and would never have any self-esteem until they stepped away from the yaki/remi.

Did I miss something? Tyra is definitely annoying, especially when it comes to beauty-related topics.  But if this didn't strike a chord with Joy I don't think she would have felt the need to be so extra with her comments - IMO a simple "Girl, BYE!" or even a "Bitch, please!" would suffice.

I think Tyra was trying to do something possitive but has no clue about the bigger vision that we all are looking for bc we see it.  I seems she just wants ppl to understand that wearing a weave all the time does not make you beautiful.  and that females should not feel the need to depend  on weaves to make them beautiful.
on the back side
She was soo wrong to say she was going natural, she should have said she was leaving the weaves alone and rocking her own. she had know clue what she was talking about claiming shes going natural and doesnt even know what it means to go natural and btw someone that works for her should have told her unless they are all clueless or white (and they should know too) and I'd like to know how long is this supposed to last.

Ladies!! Let me let yall in on a little secret,WE DONT GIVE TWO SHITS ABOUT YALL HAIR!!!If every weave store and beauty salon closed down today,do yall think men would stop wanting some pussy?HELL NO.Fact is most men like natural chicks with no weave OR make-up.I hate make up caked on and all that, lip gloss and eyeliner is about it.Whatever happened to the Anita Baker cut or some nice finger waves? You can be original with black natural hair.I’m tired of black women with fake hair, fake eyes, fake tits, fake nails, fake pocketbooks, etc running around talking about they looking for a REAL MAN.Bitch you first.

 I'm feeling this part.

BTW, I think chicks, especially natural chicks, are being way too critical of this whole Tyra thing.  Every time you turn around, in the real and virtual world, somebody got something negative to say about Tyra.  It's almost as if people were hoping she would be real bald-headed and are salty that she's not!

I think he's full of shyt.  Ask some Black men to name the sexiest/prettiest chicks in their opinion.  I guarantee they will name Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Gabrielle Union, etc.  Essentially chicks who wear weave AND makeup.

Men actually prefer women with fake (long) hair and makeup.

1) They just prefer to be FOOLED (i.e. not obvious) into thinking that it's all real.

2) And they certainly don't want their woman to be dolled up so that other men will try to holla.
1 Samuel 16:7
But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

I think it's about half and half.  All they know is, they want someone that's attractive.  They say they want it "natural" but they'll take what they can get. ;)

LadyLibra - THAT is too funny.

I know my husband agrees (to a point, I have to keep it neat!) but I do think it's like anything, SOME men like their woman to keep it natural, whatever that may mean for said woman, but a lot of men probably like a big flowing weave too.  To each his own I suppose.

And as for Tyra, I agree w/pp, she ain't nobody's natural...going without weave is what she should have said! I like Tyra, for the most part, but a lot of the time she says things that aren't quite clear ESP to viewers who aren't, in this case, familiar with Black hair.

And Joy? Seriously. I agree w/pp again...nobody said she hates herself bc of a weave, but I DO agree that one should not feel beautiful only when they have a weave, an expensive handbag, full-face of makeup, etc.  I just wish we as Black women could truly see our beauty - the beauty we ALL have.  If we don't see it who will?

wow....that dude kept it 100!  But I don't know....at the end of the day I think it depends on the dude.  Some of them do say they want somebody natural (real hair and little to no makeup) but at the end of the day when they want to "show you off" or be their trophy they expect you to step your game up.  It makes them proud to be with a lady who is well put together.

I remember when I first met my bf and we were in the "getting to know you" stage, I asked him what he thought about my hair.  He says he always loved my natural hair and he also loved and appreciated the fact that it was real and mine.   :lmao:

He said both of his exes wore weaves and fake hair a lot and it got on his nerves and ended up being a very touchy subject in his previous relationships.

I think men also just like and appreciate women who take care of their hair and has it looking nice.  He likes it when he sees women with nice hair and he is not afraid to tell them so.  The women always appreciate the compliments.  I think it's sweet.  I noticed that about him also when we were in the early stage of our relationship.
