How to cover grays without perm. color?

How do you cover your gray hair without perm color?  Thanks!  I have been down the perm color road and it ruined my hair.

It depends on how intense you'd like the color to be...and the actual color you want.  If you'd like red tones, henna...golden tones, cassia...brown tones, amla...highlights, honey...lowlights, molasses.  If you would like deep dark hair, I suggest Bigen hair color.  It's permanent for sure, but it's the most gentle color out there.  I've been using it since high school and my hair hasn't suffered a bit.  It's marketed to those w gray hair.

Jazzi, are you saying that those other things (honey, henna etc) will work to cover grays without using a color or in addition to coloring?  If so how?  I have really dark hair so the gray strands stand out, but I'm scared to mess with dyes.

That's exactly what I'm saying.  Honey and molasses stain over time, but with the powders, you'll get immediate results.  They all have staining properties.  If you have greys, you'll definitely notice the color immediately, but on dark hair, not so much.  That's why if you're looking to go black, I suggest Bigen.  Otherwise, you'll just have color on the grey areas.
