I'm so sick of my hair. It just doesn't look right to me anymore. I'm getting a haircut with this new chick on Wednesday, but once it gets warmer, I think I'm going to BC again. I know I'll miss my ponytail, but it's just hair...it will grow back! Ok, that is all.

I've been wondering about your hair! (Stalk your album every time I'm on Fotki
). I feel you girl. At this point in the game, it's all about comfort and low maintenance. Long hair just because is for the birds. Truth is, alot of us look better with short hair, so why not wear it? Can't wait to see those BC pics!

OMG I'm thinking of doing the same thing ... working out and long hair is just not working for me ... yes I will miss a lot of stuff but I've got to do something or lose my sanity ... I was just going to come on here and ask for pics of cute short hairstyles so I can get an idea of how I want it cut ... or should I just bc and be done with it??? Thoughts?

Curlilocs, your hair looks great at any length!
Yeah, sometimes it's better short. I just noticed that I'm finally at bsl when stretched but I swear, I am late to work sometimes fooling with my hair.

Y'all got me missing my TWA again. I promised that I wouldn't chop my hair off, though. I'll maintain it at shoulder length (not stretched).

Oh wow, ladies! Congratulations to all of you. Go for it! I think we are all coming at a crossroads with our hair because I was also contemplating a change. I have figured out what I plan to do with mine, but it won't involve cutting. I am Sisterlocking! I am so excited. My appointment is next Wednesday.
I love my loose hair but me and her have to part ways now. She was demanding too many things out of my life and I need those parts of my life right now to focus on other areas. Plus, I think I'm really ready now, and I wasn't ready when I thought about getting them about 2-3 years ago.
I can't wait to see pictures of these new BC's and shorter manes. I'm sure they will be beautiful because all of you are beautiful!

I think you're on to something
ShortyCocoa
! I definitely see locs in my future, but for now, it's medium lengthed hair cuts. I don't think I'm ready for the TWA quite yet (gotta get back down to TWA size lol) but styles that are shaped into a cut rater than just growing out are my of breaking up the monotony. Good luck on your loc journey!

Truthfully, I was thinking the same thing with my hair. With the baby on the way (any day now, literally) and me still going to school and contemplating a second Masters degree, I wonder if I will even have the time for hair like I used to? It's a two- three hour committment once a week, with a half hour here or there if I work out hard during the week. I wonder if I could just shorten that length of time if I cut my hair. But then I'm like, damn it took me THIS long just for it to reach my ears unstretched! I like long hair, but I wonder if I just don't like convenience more?

Thanks for the encouragement, ladies! Jazzi you seem to have it all figured out, so that's good. I'm sure your locks would be pretty whenever you decide you're ready for them.
Bubbles, girl you sound like you will be so busy you won't have time to blink or breathe!! My life is busier now, but nowhere near as busy as yours sounds. It might be easier on you to have a lighter, shorter head of hair, especially with a newborn. That in and of itself might be enough of a contributing factor to make a change. Otherwise, you might end up having trouble fitting your hair into your life and then it might get neglected. We can't have that!
I feel what you're saying about the progress though. Sometimes you just want to continue along until you reach your goals, but sometimes you also have to know when to fold.
For me, this is that time because it is getting to be too much to handle and I have some not so pleasant thoughts about shaving my head when me and her don't get along. Of course I would never do that, but you get where I'm coming from. It's a brief thought and then it's gone.

I also wanted to add that you should make sure you figure out what you want to do ahead of time so that you're not making decisions out of haste.
I used to work with a girl 4 years ago who told me she was once natural and had been for about 3 or 4 years, and after she had her baby she couldn't handle the newborn baby and all her natural hair so she went and got a relaxer.
I'm not sure if her hair is still relaxed or if she's transitioned back to natural, but man oh man did she have some pretty hair!

I know I don't post much but any updates ladies. I'm trying to decide right now if I'm just going to keep my hair a very short BC...I'm just tired of thinking about it.
