For what it's worth I think that letter is fake (something about the wording doesn't seem genuine to me) but the responses aren't any different than what I expected. Most of the comments were basically "Do you... but you're lucky to have a man who likes you without all the extra because most Black men don't, so don't lose your man in the process"I don't think that there are more people rejecting fakeness altogether, just more people rejecting harsh, obviously fake weaves, contacts, nails, etc. I hear people talk about 'fresh-faced, natural-looking' women like Halle Berry or Kerry Washington, for example, but the truth is that it takes goo-gobs of products and manpower for them to look so "natural". The same for the weaves they sometimes wear, which I've also heard being refered to as "natural-looking". As long as the end result looks like what that person could (but what many people think they should) look like I don't think most people have too much of a problem with it.
