Hi! I am happy that you are considering natural hair. I say this is a great site to be on.  Feel free to ask questions to some of the "veterans"  on their hair journeys :D.  there are different photo albums that are available to view and some of ladies show their hair from relaxed days to natural so you can see different hairstyles to consider.
I transitioned for 11 months september 05-august 06 and I have been natural ever since. you must have patience and remember that good hair is healthy hair :D I wish you the best in your journey.

Hi, I have a transitioning question. Um...I know it's ok to get straw and roller sets. I know that pressing the ng is bad, but would it be ok if I still flat ironed my relaxed hair? I'm just starting to transition, like, normally I would be getting a perm this week so, I still have all my relaxed hair  and my ng isn't showing too much right now.

Hey there,

Well I did flat iron my hair while transitioning and my advised would be to make sure your hair is really moisturized before doing that so that you avoid heat damage......for some reason i thought that you had to use higher heat on my naps...that is not the case!

My advise is to troll the internet and read everything you can about natural hair; also don't detangle dry hair ever! I put Vatika oil on my dry hair and then dentangle under running water.

It is really a learning process and when you are fully natural you will ask yourself wow what was the big deal lol its like daily life for me now and I love my hair.

Happy transitioning!  :) :)
