After the big chop...
« on: August 16, 2010, 04:51:34 AM »
Hi everyone!

I recently did the big chop after eight months of transitioning. I am 50 years old and loving the natural look! I am now sporting the TWA and want a more defined, tapered look. Should I go to a barber for the look I want? And, will I need to have a line up to make it look sharper? Any advice/suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. :)

Congratulations on you BC!! The TWA is fun. When it comes to the line that's a personal preference. On me it made me look manly, but on others I looked great so it depends on you. When I first BC I went to a barber for maintenance, but when I decided to grown my hair it was counter productive and I found I got split ends quicker. HTH. Enjoy.

I just wanted to congratulate you on your big chop.  TWA's are so pretty.

I personally am not a fan of the line-up on women but keeping your eyebrows and sideburns (if you are like me) trimmed and shaped really helps.
