I'm going to TRY, but I can be so lazy with twists.  I do need to try something other than shake n' go and puffs though.

I'm in. I actually have twists in already! I'm aiming for 4+ weeks. I've done 4 before so I should be able to at least meet that. :)

I can try.  I wonder if I can get my hair into a bun?  Maybe I can put a little poof on the back.

Oh yes I would love to join! I plan to start bunning or wearing my hair in a curly ponytail most of this Winter Season(starting this coming weekend). I think that wearing the hair in a protective style during the Winter Season is a really good thing in order to keep your hair protected from the harsh wind and cold.

What a great thread to start Jazzi! :)

questions
1.Is this an "everyday" style literally?
-Well, you don't have to do your hair daily, the style should serve as your "everyday" do.  But you can style it however you'd like...for instance, turning your twists into a pinup.
2.Washing allowed? Is there a "wash day" meaning "Okay guys we're all washing our hair today" kind of thing
-You can wash your protective style if you need to.  I don't think we can schedule a wash day b/c everyones hair may not need to be washed at the same time.  But I'm assuming we'll wash our hair when we take the style down.

3.How can you track our progress? Just to keep a few of us motivated. ;)
-We'll use this thread to log.  Also, ladies w albums can track progress there.
4.Products or no products?
-Whatever you like!

I know exactly what you mean and I will try too.  This will shut down the PJ (mine came back too) and give your hair a break.  Congrats on keeping your first set of twists the entire week!  :D

So ladies when do you want to start?

Buns are protective styles too.
Maybe you can join me on my bun-campaign.lol

I wish; my hair looks best pulled back but it's not long enough for me to do that without pulling it back tightly, so it's not protective for me yet. My hair is at an awkward length for a lot of styles.

I'm getting my hair braided this weekend so I'm in. I want to get some good healthy growth. I love wearing my hair down, but I can baby it for a few months.

They're already unraveling in the back, help! It's only been a week. Does anyone else have this problem?

jazzi,
I think we could start anytime after Christmas, since I know a lot of ladies do something special for the holidays. :)

All of you ladies that can do buns are so lucky. I'd love to try them, but my hair is so thick that I'm worried I'd have to pull tight in order to make everything smooth.

Jazzi - I'm going to tell you a disgusting secret. I used grease and haven't washed them, not once. I haven't even taken a cotton swab of Seabreeze to it. I'll do a search and retwist about once a week; making sure to brush out each section.

Laziness kept me from doing twists...and laziness is making me consider going for month two.  :sneaky:

If your hair is long enough, you could just place a scarf on your head overnight. No pulling necessary. :)

Good job on mo. two. I wish I could keep my in so long. But I'm prone to washing and the last time I did it, the take down and detangling was horrible. :(

I plan on going on this challenge soon.  I will put in more twist but this time with yarn.  I just need to find a 2 day span to put them in myself.
