My twist have been in since Saturday night.  I have had to redo a couple I got serious itchies in the center of my head (always this spot) so I am planning to co-wash and then ACV rinse.  I know that my hair is going to start untwisitng when the water it hits it, maybe I will try a stocking cap... any suggestions.

I have got to keep my hair up until the end of the month

I'm a newbie, but I'm in.  I twisted my hair on Saturday night, which is my first attempt at twist. :)

-when you start your protective style--Saturday 1/12/04
-the products used --- BB Butter Me Up, Ecostyler jel, Cantu Shea Butter
-anything you do to your style (re-twist, spritz, rinse, etc)---spritzing with joba oil, evo, and rosemary oils
-when you wash and redo--none currently
-when you add PSL updates to your album--working on starting a fotki album

Ok, I usually like to wear my hair out, but since straightening a couple of wks ago, I want to give my hair a break from routine styling. I washed my hair over the weekend, used cholesterol as my pre-poo DT to nourish my hair a bit after the press, and I used Oyin's honey hemp condish as a leave in. I just did some twists yesterday and I HOPE to keep them in at least a week. Only spritzing them daily with either my own water spritz or Oyin's Greg juice.  And sealing the ends. We'll see how this works out.  :)

I am in on the protective style challenge.  My cousin has agreed to do flat twist in the front of my hair with loose twists in the back (inspired by You are not allowed to view links.Register or Login).  If I don't do the flat twists, I will get the kinky-twists all over.  I think I could make it last two weeks to a month between each session.  I want to go protective until my BC anniversary (MARCH08).  After this wednesday, I will be in a protective style.

My twist lasted about two weeks and then I plaited my hair and slipped on my wig for the last week of January.

My hair is wearing me down so protective styles are helpful.  The winter has been brutally frigid and I have elected to keep my hair put away.

I am leaning toward a ps for the next week or maybe 2 weeks comb coils.  Can you do these without getting under the dryer, I am really leery about heat of any kind on my hair.  I also saw a couple of split ends and will be posting about cutting methods I can do it myself or go to the shop (scared).  I am thinking about 1/2 inch all over.

My medium-size twists has been in for 2 weeks. After the 1st week, I took them down and re-twist with Miss Jessies Buttercreme and Fantasia IC gel (clear)!! Hopefully, they will last for one more week before I wash, DC and re-twist!!

I wish I could twist to last more then a week.  I usually have to retwist mid-week, because they just get all frizzy or come loose.

Count me in.  It's gonna be difficult, but I'm hoping length gained will be the reward.  I'm in twists now that I put in on Feb 3rd with no product.  I spritz twice daily with a water, kemi oyl, glycerine mixture.  I'm hoping to wear these for a week before redoing.  Does anyone wash and DT while still wearing old twists and then redo by taking each one down and retwisting thereby eliminating completely free and wild hair?

Update: I had to take the twists out and wash (clarify) my hair..I started to get the "itches" on my scalp..I re-twist yesterday..So, actually the twists lasted 2 1/2 weeks...Let's see how long these last..

update:  I untwisted most of my twists and retwisted with ecostyler gel (same pieces of hair, no combing or brushing).  I've been sick with the flu all week, and laying around feeling lousy day after day took an early toll on my original twists.  I hope to keep these in another week before taking them down for a twistout (hopefully lasting 2 days), washing, dt, and twisting it up again.  That would be basically a 16-day protective style.  Not bad...I think I can do this.  :)

Lazy me  ;)  I want to know if it is feasible to do medium comb coils or must they be small?  If so I will be doing comb coils tonight or tomorrow.

I am looking to place an order for the alma & olive heavy cream today or tomorrow.  ;D

I cowashed my twists focusing on cleansing the scalp, "plopped" with a t-shirt for a few minutes, spritzed with my kemi oyl/glycerin/water spritz, and then spritzed with diluted setting lotion to hopefully tame the frizzies.  I thought this would be the death of these twists, but they're hanging in there!  I have hope for the future

I unfurled for a twistout yesterday.  I'm still wearing it today and hopefully I can squeeze one more day out of it tomorrow.  Taking them down was no walk in the park.  I want to make my twists bigger, but then they look scalpy  :-\.  I might do a wash and go from Wednesday through Saturday, and then twist it up again.
