Anybody have any tips for caring for braids? I haven't had braids since I transitioned.

Keep your scalp lubricated!  That's the most important thing.  and don't pull them back until they loosen up a bit!

Ok so this is week two for me in the protective style challenge.  I washed, deeped conditioned (sat under dryer for 45 min) and retwisted my hair.  So far so good.  No major problems so let's pray that I can stick with this...cause my hair gets KILLED in the winter time!
extremely thick, kinky, coils and curls that have a mind of thier own.

Well last night after I washed and conditioned , I slicked it up in a ponytail so hopefully it will stay good for a couple of days , which is good because twisting/braiding my hair all the time is getting tired.

You can mix essential oils w water, leave in, oil and make your own spritz.  Rosemary, peppermint, sage, and tea tree, are all good for the scalp.   Sulfur 8 braid spray is also really good.  Right now I'm using BB Kick for Curls mixed w water, sta sof fro, rosemary, and spearmint essential oil and it works really well.

I've been in half cornrows/boxbraids for 2 weeks now! So I'm definitely in! I want to achieve some growth so bad.... I think too much manipulation has caused my hair to shed.  :(

I'm in! I'm wearing two-strand twists right now which I've had in since Christmas Eve.  They are fuzzy but they're working for me.  I plan on redoing my twists every 2 weeks.  ;)
